Week 3: A New Chapter

5/29: I am now completely moved out of my apartment. It was really strange to see the place completely empty again. It brought back memories of the first week in the apartment, ordering pizza and eating on the ground watching Entourage because I had nothing but a television. I guess it's starting to hit me now that I graduated and am starting a new chapter in life.

5/30: My friend Thomas has this absolutely gorgeous '68 GTO. Unfortunately, it stalled out on PCH late last night, almost killing him in the process. We got under it this afternoon and discovered it's a faulty fuel pump. I suppose that this just proves that German cars are the way to go.

6/1: Wow, June already? I went over to the park near my new house and took some late night pictures. This reminded me of the movie He Got Game with Ray Allen.

6/3: My friend Brandon got in to LA today. We leave for Tokyo in a couple of days... Can. Not. Wait.

6/4: We went to Venice Beach this afternoon and took some shots of the skaters and the crazies. On a side note, I'll be in Japan for the next week and a half, so I may not be updating this for a bit, but I can guarantee some awesome pics once I get back to the States.

Week 2: One Down... Fifty-One To Go

5/22: I got the idea for this shot from a similar picture I saw online using Heinken caps. Mine didn't turn out nearly as good. I'm pretty disappointed in today's results.

5/23: Today I went for a cruise through the canyons in Malibu. I stopped and took a few pictures of the passing crotch rockets. I forgot to check my white balance though and the color was really off. I did my best to fix this, but the color is still a little funky. Not starting this week off very well.

5/24: My car hit 30,000 miles today. Sad day.

5/28: I moved into a new house today. I'll be living here with some of my fraternity brothers for a couple of months until I figure out what I'm doing with my life. Kind of an odd transition from living alone in a single apartment to sharing a big house with friends. I feel like I did the opposite of what most people do. But after one night here, one thing is for sure: It's going to be a fun couple of months.

Week 1: Allow Me to Re-Introduce Myself

5/15: Today I went to a Hot Rod and Custom Car Show in Costa Mesa, California. Therefore, it only seems fitting to start things off with a Shelby GT500. Shall we begin?

5/17: I've been experimenting with depth of field in the last two photos. Both are a bit too shallow at f/1.8, but nevertheless I think they turned out alright. Here's a little taste of my fashion sense (or perhaps... The lack thereof?).

5/18: Tonight's lesson: It's time to invest in a tripod. I took about 50 pictures over the 101 Fwy. However, trying to balance my camera on a railing without a tripod didn't result in sharp enough photos for my liking. Therefore, the shakiest was the most interesting of the bunch. In an abstract sort of way.

5/19: Alcohol and dialogue... The perfect combination. I caught up with my buddy Matt tonight over a couple of drinks. Played around with Photoshop to get the selective color effect on this one. Matt claims he inspired the composition of the shot. Debatable.

5/21: I officially made it a week without slipping up. Hopefully I can continue this trend (*Knocking on wood). Tonight I tried my hand at a self portrait and with the help of a simple lamp, I used a light source besides the natural lighting for basically the first time ever. Once again I did a selective color edit in Photoshop. See you next week!
